Louisville Healthcare facility gives McDonalds the boot

The lease for the restaurant on the first floor of Kosair Children's Hospital will not be renewed

The lease for the McDonalds on the first floor of Kosair Children's Hospital in Louisville, Ky., will not be renewed, according to an article on the Louisville Business First website.

According to Tom Johnson, Norton's vice president of public relations and chief communications officer, the lease wasn't renewed because the hospital needed more room for some of its services.

The hospital is looking for another food-service operation that would occupy a smaller footprint.

The Courier Journal reports that the announcement of the closing came days before a planned bus-stop advertising campaign by the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine, encouraging the hospital to "Nix The Nuggets."
