Cary Medical Center in Caribou, Maine, recently transitioned from contracting with a private security firm to its own in-house security department, according to an article on the Campus Safety website.
The newly formed department is made up of six security officers and a force manager.
The decision was made after an assessment of the physical environment and its effects on workplace hazards.
Staff training and policy development are also planned.
