South Shore Hospital staff in Weymouth, Mass., went on alert recently after a former employee sent an alarming email and then showed up at the emergency room, according to an article on the 7News website.
The hospital said it added additional public safety personal to all shifts, which will remain in place around the clock until further notice.
The hospital also said it reviewed access to the buildings over the weekend, including employee entrances.
An employee told 7News that they were also sent a “Code Silver” email that explained what to do in the event of an active shooter.
