Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare, The West Clinic and the University of Tennessee Health Science Center, will consolidate cancer services from multiple sites into a single location called the West Cancer Center, according to an article on the Memphis Business Journal website.

“We believe a single, conveniently located site offering comprehensive cancer care will allow us to not only elevate the level of care that patients and their families receive right here in the Mid-South, but also will allow us to continue to improve access to the highest quality cancer care for all patients across the region,” said Lee S. Schwartzberg, medical director for the West Cancer Center in the article.

The proposed $60.5 million project will include a range of cancer services and programs and involves approximately 8,050 square feet of new space and 101,235 square feet of renovated space.

Also included is the relocation of diagnostic equipment, including a PET scan, as well as MRI and CT services. In addition to two ambulatory surgery suites, the proposed plan includes the relocation of one linear accelerator and addition of a second, the article said.
