Children's Hospital of Michigan-Troy designed to transform pediatric care delivery


The new Children’s Hospital of Michigan–Troy was designed to distinctive beyond its striking appearance, according to an article on the Health Facilities Management website,

A tremendous amount of planning went into improving workflow efficiency and patient care.

“The way Lean design works is that we didn’t talk about the design at all. We talked about the flow of patients through our system. We identified what was not valuable to the parents and their kids and what was valuable,” Children’s Hospital of Michigan CEO Larry Gold said in the article. Waiting rooms are few and far between.

The design of the facility itself strove for something creative and whimsical for the kids.
