The Fisher House will provide free lodging for family members of veterans receiving care


Milwaukee's Zablocki VA hospital will soon open the Fisher House, which will provide free lodging for family members of veterans receiving care, according to an article on the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel website.

At 13,000 square feet, Milwaukee's Fisher House features 16 private suites and a communal kitchen and living area for people traveling at least 50 miles to be with family members undergoing surgeries and treatment at Zablocki.

The house's large kitchen includes three refrigerators and two freezers.

Living areas feature couches and chairs and a large screen TV with an Xbox. An outdoor porch with patio furniture will soon get a couple of gas grills.
