Winston Medical Center in Louisville, Miss. has a new $55,000,000 facility three years after a tornado destroyed the 60-year-old former hospital, according to an article on the PR Newswire website.
The only hospital within a 30-mile radius opened after the staff worked out of MASH tents for 11 months, then moved into mobile trailers.
On April 28, 2014, an EF4 tornado tore a 34-mile track through Louisville, killing 10 people, leaving hundreds homeless and destroying the hospital.
The new Winston Medical Center began accepting patients on May 1.
