Moen Commercial meets the needs of healthcare facilities with new M-Dura bedpan washers

North Olmsted, Ohio - Hospitals and healthcare facilities demand a hygienic experience for patients and staff – but reliability, durability and lower lifetime costs are also top priorities when it comes to selecting restroom fixtures. The new Moen Commercial heavy-duty M•Dura™ Bedpan Washer is built to withstand the most demanding healthcare environments and designed to limit the spread of damaging bacteria in patient rooms.

The M•Dura Bedpan Washer is built with a durable, solid-brass body and a chrome finish that can handle the harshest industrial cleaners. Even the spay face of the diverter arm is chrome-plated for easy cleaning.

Thoughtfully designed with the help of nurses, the spray face is extended to include a rounded lift handle for both safety and ease of movement.  An optimized spray force and concentrated spray pattern allow for bedpan washing without splash-back, keeping arms and surfaces clean. Additionally, integral arm alignment ensures the arm consistently points to the center of the bowl.

Always important in high-usage facilities, but not always found in competitive bedpan washer products, the M•Dura Bedpan Washer features a torx head screw on the spray face for vandal resistance and one-piece construction of the spray head and arm.

The innovative pivot arm design eliminates an industry-accepted set screw that can corrode and become unserviceable over time. Additionally, the connection seals with an o-ring to ensure a tight fit and eliminate failure commonly associated with face seals.

The M•Dura Bedpan Washer is compatible with Moen’s SecureMount™ Anchors, which make it possible to quickly and easily mount the diverter arm on drywall without studs.

“We understand the strains and demands of professionals working in patient care on a daily basis,” said Sarah Lindegarde, senior product manager, Moen Commercial.  “The main concern is the recovery and health of patients. The M•Dura bedpan washer was designed to ease usage and eliminate product failure – we’re taking focus off of the functionality of products and back onto caring for others, providing a solution that offers a hygienic experience and unmatched reliability.”

The Moen Commercial bedpan washer is available as a diverter kit or with specific closet models (3.5 gallons per flush and water-saving 1.6 gallons per flush) in the heavy-duty M•Dura manual flush valve line. M•Dura products are backed by a five-year limited warranty.* Both the M•Dura bedpan washer and manual flush valve are ADA compliant.
