A World Health Organization (WHO) study of hand-hygiene initiatives shows that almost all respondents have an advanced- or intermediate-level program in place, according to an article on the Health Facilities Management website.
Participants were mostly acute care hospitals and ambulatory care facilities with some long-term care facilities.
Of the 129 healthcare facility respondents, 91 facilities said they have advanced- or intermediate-level hand-hygiene program. Eight facilities said they had just a basic program. No one reported having an inadequate program.
