Mount Sinai Health System’s Telestroke Program Implements Telemedicine with the Help of Adorama Business Solutions

Mount Sinai Health System in Brooklyn, New York recently enlisted Adorama Business Solutions, the premier technology resource for corporate, educational, and government institutions, to help purchase and incorporate equipment to enable telemedicine to treat high-risk patients in the Telestroke Program.

As the medical community responds to the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19), hospitals nationwide are coordinating their efforts to help combat the virus. The increase in hospital patients in New York State — including those who are admitted with COVID-19, and those with other needs — means doctors and staff are adapting in real-time to help better treat the public.

With efficiency, readiness, and sterilization in mind, the hospital required a robust and mobile product package to help staff get to in-hospital patients far quicker and more productively, while also allowing doctors to treat them remotely.

To best equip the team of doctors, Adorama Business Solutions quickly assisted with acquiring product and placing an order, made possible thanks to a generous gift to the hospital from the Foundation for Stroke Prevention. The two products - Tether Tools AeroTab S2 Univeral Tablet Mounting System, and Tether Tools EasyGrip St, allow for easy mounting of an iPad to a standard intravenous (IV) pole, enabling users to easily move the entire unit as they travel, and doctors the ability to assist patients from home.

Made from aerospace aluminum, and thanks to its intuitive design, the entire setup is easily cleaned, adhering to hospital regulations. It can also be easily removed when needed, further allowing doctors and healthcare workers versatility in their work.

After an initial testing phase proved successful, there are immediate plans to expand this solution to at least five additional hospitals as part of the phase one roll-out.
