Raintree Healthcare of Wilkesboro LLC, owner of Wilkes County Adult Care in Mount Pleasant, N.C., was recently fined for wastewater treatment violations, according to an article on the Journal Patriot website.
The company is facing the possible loss of its state license to provide non-skilled assisted living care at a residential facility.
The fine resulted from a failure to properly operate the facilities package wastewater treatment plant and designate an operator and back-up operator for the plant.
Sample of water being released from the treatment plant into a creek was tested, and was found to have high levels of fecal coliform bacteria and total suspended solids.
