NFMT event to include a panel for young professionals

The 2016 National Facilities Management & Technology event offers three full days of education, speakers, networking with peers, and a giant expo hall. All for free.

This year's National Facilities Management & Technology (NFMT) event will include a panel for young professionals on advancing through their FM career.

With more resources and programs available, the traditional path of “falling” into the job and rising through the ranks is less common for younger facilities managers. Degree programs, student internships and work experiences have allowed young professionals in facilities management to be ready to advance at a much younger age than the previous generation, especially as the baby boomers continue to move into their “third act”. Attend this session to hear from other young professionals on how they have positioned themselves to advance their career and move up in the industry.

The panel will include Caroline Horton, assistant facilities manager, 2U, Inc

The session's learning objectives will be to:

1. Review how degree programs, student internships and work experiences advance your career

2. Learn the importance of mentoring

3. Understand how technology will play an increasingly important role for young professionals to advance in the industry

The session will be moderated by Renee Bassett, vice president for content development for Trade Press Media Group, overseeing Building Operating Management, Facility Maintenance Decisions and Healthcare Facilities Today

The event will be held in Baltimore on March 22-24, 2016.

Check out the NFMT website for more information.
