New Stanford hospital inspired by Apple

The hospital has automated guided vehicles to assist with laundry delivery and trash disposal


Stanford Health Care incorporated user experience ideas from Apple to improve the patient experience at its new Palo Alto, Calif. hospital,  according to an article on the Becker's Hospital Review website.

Patients can choose entertainment options and control the temperature, lighting and window blinds from their beds. 

The hospital also features robots that package prescriptions and  there are automated guided vehicles to assist with laundry delivery and trash disposal. 

Sensors are also being used to track staff and equipment to enhance inventory control and efficiency.
