New Tennant heavy-duty battery scrubber will run 8-hour shift in economy mode

MINNEAPOLIS - Tennant Company (NYSE: TNC), a world leader in designing, manufacturing and marketing solutions that help create a cleaner, safer, healthier world, today announced its latest high-performance machine—the T17 Battery-Powered Rider Scrubber—to complement its full line of cleaning solutions. Designed to reduce costs to clean, improve facility image and provide a safe environment for the operator and service personnel, the T17 will be unveiled May 6 in Amsterdam where it has been nominated for the 2014 ISSA/INTERCLEAN Amsterdam Innovation Award in the category of machines, accessories and components.

Tennant has integrated its cleaning, operational controls and maintenance simplicity into the heavy-duty scrubber along with industry-first capabilities to make it one of the best battery rider scrubbers that Tennant has introduced to date. The launch of the T17 is a milestone in Tennant Company’s goal of completing a full line of newly redesigned, high-performing, battery-powered industrial rider-scrubbers within a three-year period. This accelerated product development timeline is enabled by innovative modular design which carries forward the award-winning design elements of the T12 into the T17. In addition, the modular nature of this product line enables improved serviceability and familiar operation for end-users.

Available with Tennant Company’s proprietary ec-H2O™ technology, the T17 was designed with an eye to sustainability which is a key focus for cleaning professionals. The T17 can help reduce the amount of water needed to clean when using the available ES® (Extended Scrub) technology which filters and recycles recovered solution to extend cleaning time and increase productivity.

“The T17 allows Tennant to offer a cleaning machine designed to increase productivity, and reduce costs to clean, while being easy and safe to operate with heavy-duty cleaning capabilities,” said Rusty Zay, Tennant Senior Vice President of Global Marketing. “From excellent water containment to having the largest available battery capacity in its class, we believe the T17 is set apart from the competition and delivers a solution for cleaning professionals who need durability and performance in severe, industrial environments.”
