New York-Presbyterian blends art with innovation

Facility has nearly 400 works of art


The design of New York-Presbyterian Hospital’s new ambulatory care center blends art with technological innovation, according to an article on the Architectural Digest website.

The facility, designed for designed for chemotherapy, infusion therapy and other outpatient procedures has nearly 400 works of art.

The light-filled, three-story lobby has floating stairs and a painting by Beatriz Milhazes —  one of two site-specific commissions by the Brazilian artist. 

The 734,000-square-foot facility focuses on patient-centered design. For instance, prep rooms double as recovery rooms, providing continuity.
