On August 18, 2025, Northwest Medical Specialties, PLLC (NWMS) received correspondence from an unidentified party claiming to have accessed their data. Once received, they took steps to isolate and secure the network and engaged third-party specialists to assist with investigating the claimed activity and ensuring containment.

The investigation determined that certain data within the network was potentially copied without authorization on August 15, 2025. NWMS subsequently began reviewing the data to determine the contents of the data and to whom it related. They completed their review on August 22, 2025, and are now providing notification to potentially impacted individuals.

The data that was potentially impacted may include an individual’s name and one or more of the following: name, date of birth, diagnosis or condition information, lab results, medications, or other treatment information if this information was provided to NWMS. Importantly, the potentially impacted information may vary for each individual and may include all or just one of the above-listed types of information.

Upon learning of this event, NWMS took steps to secure our network environment and undertook a thorough investigation. They are reviewing their policies and procedures and also implemented additional technical safeguards to further enhance the security of information in their possession and to prevent similar incidents from happening in the future.
