Norton upgrades 2800ST cam action door closer with new low-profile track

ASSA ABLOY’s Norton brand, announced it has updated the 2800ST cam action door closer with a new low profile track that offers improved performance and a sleek, modern appearance.

“Effective immediately, Norton Door Controls is replacing the current 2800ST cam action door closer track with our newer version,” said Blue Houser, Norton Brand Manager. “What was a superior design is now even better, with smoother, easier and more reliable operation.”

The Norton 2800ST’s new non-hold open track comes standard with an internal spring that cushions and protects the door during abusive conditions. It also has a smaller track size for a more discreet and unobtrusive appearance.

For slide track applications, cam action door closers are inherently easier to open and more efficient than rack and pinion door closers because the cam action design provides much lower operating resistance while delivering optimum closing force and control. The 2800ST’s wide range of adjustable closing force makes it well suited for use on interior or exterior doors in hospitals, educational facilities, office and commercial buildings and other applications. The efficiency of the 2800ST conforms to the opening force requirements of the ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act).

The Norton 2800ST comes standard with adjustable sweep speed, latch speed and closing control and adjustable backcheck cushioning in the opening cycle. The 2800ST is non-handed, offers adjustable spring sizes 1 through 6 and offers push or pull side installation. Its cast aluminum body combines attractive design with extreme durability. Because of its smaller track size, warranty and retrofit applications will require minimal door or frame patching.

The Norton 2800ST door closer is UL-listed and UL10c-compliant for positive pressure. It is currently available and carries a 10-year limited warranty.
