Nurse’s plastic collection transformed into mural at Toronto hospital

She collected the plastic bits during her 28 years as a nurse in the intensive care unit

A nurse at Toronto General Hospital has turned the medicine caps and tube connectors, vial lids and syringe coverings left over from treating some of the sickest hospital patients into a mural that now brightens a wall of the hospital, according to an article on The Star website.

She collected the plastic bits during her 28 years as a nurse in the intensive care unit. She emphasized her collection is only made up of clean pieces that never touched patients.

She has since turned that collection into a mural, creating a colorful mosaic of more than 10,000 pieces embedded in clear resin.

The mural, which measures 4 x 9 feet, now hangs in the hospital. The nurse said she hopes it provides both comfort and inspiration to hospital staff and patients.
