Officers cleared in California hospital shooting

Officers fired six rounds at a man who shot through a glass door with a rifle and entered the hospital

An investigation cleared the two officers of wrongdoing after they fired six rounds at a man who shot through a glass door with a rifle and entered a Bakersfield, Calif., hospital, according to an article on the Campus Safety website.

An investigation determined all shots fired at Bakersfield Heart Hospital were within department policy and legal requirements. Both officers have returned to full duty.

The hospital was placed on lockdown on Dec. 1 after a 44-year-old man shot through a door with a rifle and pushed through the broken glass to enter the hospital.

The man walked the halls for three minutes and pointed his rifle at several employees but did not shoot. He then exited through the same doors he entered.
