Patient at Pa. hospital slashes security officer with light bulb

The patient attempting to escape a locked unit at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest in Allentown, Pa., slashed a security officer's arm with a light bulb, according to an article on the Campus Safety website.

Hospital security told police that the man broke the covering to an overhead light, grabbed a tube light and broke it in half to use as a weapon. 

Another security officer reportedly saw him running down the halls and trying to break through a locked door with a metal bed frame.

The patient was eventually restrained by other security officers and taken back to his room where he was placed in four-point restraints. He was later arrested by Salisbury Township police.
