Beds have been lining the halls of Australia’s Canberra Hospital's emergency department, with some patients forced to spend more than 24 hours waiting to be moved to a room, according to an article on the Canberra Times website.
Beds have often been used in the corridors for at least the past month.
Critics say a winter management plan should have been enacted earlier.
The situation is being blamed on a slow response to the early uptake in the flu season .
