The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia's new Buerger Center for Advanced Pediatric Care features a two-story climbing wall, an outdoor dining terrace and a children’s discovery garden, according to an article on the Healthcare Construction + Operations website.
Making the medical experience fun for children while efficient and convenient for families was at the center of planning for the new facility, the article said.
The design includes a 14,000-square-foot roof garden, a 2.6-acre landscaped outdoor plaza, a two-story climbing wall in the physical therapy area and an outdoor dining terrace and children’s discovery garden.
The facility also has an advanced electronic systems to reduce wait times for appointments and expedite registration and checkout.
