The Phoenix VA Health Care System postponed surgeries for a week due to a mechanical issue in the operating rooms, according to an article on the Tucson News Now website.
Crews worked to fix a problem with the ventilation system and engineers needed two or three days to complete a full evaluation of all the mechanical systems supporting the operating rooms.
The VA did not say how many surgeries were impacted.
"This period of time will allow us to conduct a full analysis of the Operating Room mechanical systems functioning as well as complete a certification of the existing system through an external source," a hospital official said.
