Providence College, Janitorial Company Sign Deal

Integrated facility management company, UG2, has signed a multi-year agreement to provide comprehensive green janitorial and ancillary services at Providence College.

As of January 1, UG2 services 1.2 million square feet of cleanable space, including academic, residential, athletic and dining hall facilities, totaling 47 buildings with 65 employees. UG2 was able to seamlessly integrate into the campus within just a few weeks, ensuring that facilities were ready for students, faculty and staff returning from winter break.

UG2’s approach to service is focused on implementing an innovative, technology driven process that best supports those utilizing the facility space, while optimizing campus operations. UG2 developed a tailored program that allows Providence College to meet its sustainability and environmental requirements. UG2’s unique methods reduce building and environmental waste and impact while simultaneously providing a clean and healthy environment for students, faculty and staff.

“We approach each facility management engagement with a fresh perspective, taking the time to understand the needs of the facility management team and those using the space every day," says Louis J. Lanzillo, CEO of UG2. "We collaborated with Providence College and developed a green cleaning plan that best serves their community and meets their unique needs and priorities.”

The enthusiasm and commitment of UG2’s ownership and senior leadership team is illustrated in its continued involvement at all levels, using its customer-focused mentality coupled with its family-style approach to building relationships.

“Providence College is happy to be working with UG2 in support of our efforts to provide a high quality experience for our campus community,"  says Warren Gray, Assistant Vice-President for Business Services, Providence College. "UG2 will play an important role in helping us to maintain our facilities at the highest levels. We are looking forward to a strong partnership."

As part of UG2’s Strong Safety Culture Training & Development Program, it provides staff with comprehensive safety training and refresher courses, management and supervisor training curriculum, line staff technical and customer training, and all mandatory state and OSHA training. UG2 implemented a specialized training for Providence College staff that ensured successful sustainable program execution, with a focus on green cleaning training, product, equipment and supply utilization and green cleaning procedures and stations.

UG2 is also responsible for providing green janitorial services for special events and athletics including men’s and women’s hockey and men’s and women’s basketball.

In addition to providing daily green janitorial services, UG2 also implemented its emergency response capabilities. During this year’s Nor’easter season, UG2 provided boots-on-the-ground monitoring for flooding, deployment of emergency response vehicles and extractors, and post-storm clean up.
