Report examines Texas hospitals' hurricane response

The Texas Hospital Association released a special report on the disaster response


The Texas Hospital Association released a special report on Texas hospitals' response to Hurricane harvey, according to an article on the Becker's Hospital Review website.

The report surveyed 92 hospitals in Harvey-affected areas regarding their response to the storm. 

Takeaways from the report include:

• Hospitals said emergency provisions and supplies were strained because local residents without acute medical conditions sought shelter in their facilities

•Some of these facilities had difficulty keeping adequate security in place. Other hospitals with adequate security said housing and feeding the teams was difficult.
