Allen Stout, director of Quality/Risk Management for Munson Healthcare Charlevoix Hospital in Charlevoix, Mich., works at everything from safeguarding patient and staff data to preventing surgical infections and workplace violence, according to an article on the Petoskey News website.
All those things dovetail together into a solid effort to make a safer and secure healthcare system.
Stout, who is often called the “Safety Guy,” oversees all the hospital accreditation programs, quality programs and equipment compliance, risk management activities, which deals with everything from patient relations to general risk to the organization and its staff.
“Any safety concerns for patients and staff is a big part of my job,” Stout said. “Anything related to patient safety or employee safety because we strive to be an organization that functions at the highest level of quality and safety each and every day.”
