Construction crews are building new nursing and diagnostic and treatment facilities in the current phase of Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital's multiyear retrofitting and rebuidling project, according to an article on the Noozhawk website.
The Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital Modernization and Seismic Compliance Project was approved by the City Council 11 years ago.
The modernizations entered Phase 6 last September and are expected to continue for two more years.
The final phase, which deals with internal modeling, is expected to be completed in 2019.
