Sarasota hospital designs wayfinding app

Visitors can get location-based content and tips for navigating hospital's main campus

Sarasota Memorial in Sarasota, Fla., designed a wayfinding app to help patients find their way around its 1.5-million-square-foot main campus, according to an article on the Medical Construction & Design website.

“A hospital can be a confusing, stressful place for patients and their families, so we want to do all that we can to make their experience a more pleasant one,” said Peter Taylor, marketing director for Sarasota Memorial Health Care System.

The app's functions include:

• The ability to find the ERs, urgent care centers and other locations within the hospital's network
