An employee at Regina Hospital in Saskatchewan is calling for better security after he was confronted by two would-be robbers as he walked to work, according to an article on the LeaderPost website.
Dale Orban, manager of security and parking for the Regina Qu’Appelle Health Region (RQHR), said the incident is concerning. “We take the hospital security very, very seriously.”
A neo-natal nurse was attacked and almost car jacked last December as she walked near the hospital to get to her car.
A month after that attack, a man at the hospital’s 14th Avenue entrance was confronted by a teen toting a sawed-off shotgun.
While hospital security will escort staff, there’s only so many officers to go around and they have other duties, officials said.
