Scientists invent germ-fighting fabric for healthcare

The team is working to embed a germ-killing agent into hospital garments

Researchers at UMass Lowell have created germ-killing fabric that could help with infection control efforts at healthcare facilities, according to an article on the EurekaAlert website.

The team is working to embed a germ-killing agent into hospital scrubs and other garments.

The researchers are developing a way not only to treat fabrics with germ-killing agent but to re-charge its effectiveness by rinsing it in bleach as part of the laundry cycle.
