Procedures have come under scrutiny during the pandemic


Senior living facilities are applying the lessons learned responding to the pandemic to keep their patients safe in the long term, according to an article on the Senior Living News website.

Tighter infection control procedures will be key moving forward, because the virus shows no signs of being eliminated and facilities must be in compliance with federal and state infection control guidelines. 

Thirty-two states list infection control as a training component for staff in residential care and assisted living facilities, but the requirements vary.

Ten states include language in their policies specifically dealing with epidemics and reporting disease outbreaks .
