ShorePoint Health Venice Ends Services

Decline in inpatient volume and rising expenses contributed to the closure.

By HFT Staff

ShorePoint Health Venice in Tennessee is no longer providing hospital services. Physicians affiliated with ShorePoint Medical Group in the Venice area are still seeing patients in their same practice locations at this time. Patients also still have access to diagnostic imaging, wound care, outpatient surgery and other services at Venice HealthPark.

Officials said the 312-bed hospital closed due to a decline in inpatient volume and rising expenses. The decision comes after the opening of Sarasota Memorial Hospital-Venice in November, according to the Herald-Tribune
