South Carolina Medical Association to partner with KaMMCO Health Solutions for statewide interoperability and analytics tools

Physicians and healthcare professionals nationwide are in the midst of unparalleled industry transformation. Successful adoption of the new performance- based delivery and payment models will rely heavily upon interoperability and development of actionable intelligence through analytics. South Carolina Medical Association (SCMA) has recognized these as critical factors for their statewide membership and is pleased to announce a new partnership with KaMMCO Health Solutions (KHS) in support of their mission to improve health of South Carolinians through both interoperability and transformative data analytics.

SCMA has existed as the voice of physicians in South Carolina for over 160 years, representing more than 6,000 physicians. A SCMA physician-led advisory board will soon be formed to work with KHS to establish a statewide health information network, allowing connected physicians to share real-time patient information while employing powerful analytic reports designed to help improve clinical outcomes, reduce inefficiencies, and positively impact patient safety. A launch of the new SCMA-endorsed entity is anticipated fall 2016.

"SCMA members are continuously seeking opportunities to improve patient encounters and health outcomes. In keeping our priorities aligned, SCMA is positioned to help physicians across the state realize success," shared SCMA President Alexander Ramsay, MD. "Partnering with KHS allows us to support the physicians of South Carolina with benefits unlike any other professional association when it comes to data analytics relevant to both patient care and the successful transition to alternative payment models. This is a win-win for all South Carolinians."

"We appreciate the unique perspective KHS offers, as they too are physician-led. We are pleased to work with an organization comprised of leaders that have the actual experience of developing and successfully maintaining a health information network which also serves as the foundation for development and delivery of meaningful data analytic reports," added SCMA Chief Executive Officer, ToddAtwater.

"SCMA represents a statewide membership of highly engaged and forward-thinking physicians. We are thrilled and honored to partner with SCMA to provide the integral solutions to the healthcarecommunity of South Carolina," stated KHS President and Chief Executive Officer, Kurt Scott.
