Grand Strand, S.C., hospitals are working to catch signs of the coronavirus before patients enters their doors, according to an article on the ABC15 website.
Conway Medical Center has restricted almost all visitation. Now, only people who are visiting patients who are giving birth, in the pediatric unit, or in an end-of-life situation will be allowed inside. CMC has also closed most of its main entry points to curb the spread of the virus.
At CMC, emergency patients entering through the emergency department now have to be screened in an outdoor tent before entering.
In another hospital, patients are screened at the front door of the emergency department. If the patient screens positive for the coronavirus, they will be redirected to the tents.
