A 2015 survey conducted by Health Facilities Management magazine, shows healthcare facilities managers salaries are rising. Compensation for environmental services managers showed a jump experts say could be tied to healthcare’s increasing focus on infection control results, according to an article on the magazine's website.
Pay for facilities and construction managers have also shown healthy increases since 2012.
Between 2012 and 2015, environmental services/housekeeping increased 8.0 percent to $74,632, while construction/project management rose 5.3 percent to an average $118,139, and facilities management/operations/engineering increased by 3.4 percent to $98,950, the article said.
The survey of management compensation was conducted in cooperation with the American Society for Healthcare Engineering (ASHE) and the Association for the Healthcare Environment (AHE).
