Tampa’s biggest hospital has new food vendor

Sodexo is the new food service vendor at Tampa General Hospital.

The change is effective June 6. About 119 workers currently are employed by Morrison Healthcare at TGH.

Morrison, headquartered in Atlanta, has a long history with TGH. The food service company started at the hospital in 1996, left in August 2010, and returned in May 2015. From August 2010 to May 2015, TGH provided dietary services in-house.

Sodexo is part of Sodexo S.A. (OTC: SDXAY), a French firm that develops, manages, and delivers on-site services, benefits and rewards services, and personal and home services worldwide. The company also manages food services at University of Tampa.

Tampa General is the largest hospital in Tampa Bay, with 1,011 licensed acute care beds and $1.09 billion in net operating revenue for 2015.
