Virtual construction and design have advanced the way project construction teams collaborate to develop healthcare facilities, according to an article on the Medical Construction & Design website.

Multi-disciplinary digital models can advance collaboration between building owners, designers and contractors, and integrating design and construction data within a shared virtual model.

Using this technology, design and construction team members simulate the processes, data and geometry of a building, creating a “virtual” facility before construction begins, the article said.

The team can communicate, visualize and analyze building information more easily to make better-informed decisions.
