Technology's role in healthcare design and operations is growing and developing a facility master plan that evolves with technology master plan is crucial, according to an article on the Medical Construction & Design website.

Medical equipment and technology can be intimidating but the interior design design can offer a balance between high-tech and and a comforting environment, with the use of natural materials and images of nature.

A well-designed interior environment should also integrate seamlessly with the technology that is physically attached to the building. Designers must also allow the flexibility for equipment to be easily replaced and upgraded.

Before a healthcare facility is built, technology should be a critical part of the design and then continue to be play an evolving role in  the patient and staff experience.
