Telehealth could be cost-saver in patient care

Studies expect growth in telehealth for home health care

Telehealth could be a big cost-saver in patient care, as studies are predicting  growth in telehealth for home health care, according to an article on the Health Facilities Management website.

Patient care has already been shifting from the hospital to more economical and convenient facilities for a while.

Based on recent studies, it seems the next evolution in reducing facility-related health care costs will be moving health care into patients’ homes as much as possible, and these reports are not talking about doctors making physical house calls, the article said.

Tractica, a market intelligence firm, estimates that more than 78 million consumers worldwide will use home health technologies by 2020, up from 14.3 million in 2014.
