Patient in a double room set his mattress on fire and walked out of the room


Law enforcement and security officers aren’t the only people on the healthcare campus working to keep their facilities safe, according to an article on the Campus Safety website.

A charge nurse and transportation employee from Temple University Hospital doused a fire in a patient's room. 

A patient in a double room set his mattress on fire and walked out of the room

The nurse smelled the smoke and found both mattresses on fire. She turned off oxygen to the unit and she and the transportation employee went back to the room and extinguished both fires with a fire extinguisher.
