Dandelion Health Inc. announced that Texas Health Resources is the third health system to join the Dandelion Consortium. Texas Health joins two other health systems, Sharp HealthCare and Sanford Health, to unlock the power of de-identified longitudinal clinical data and catalyze the development of responsible AI and analytic tools to improve health.   

Texas Health is a faith-based, nonprofit health system that cares for more patients in North Texas than any other provider. With a service area that consists of 16 counties and more than seven million people, the system provides quality, coordinated care through its Texas Health Physicians Group and 29 hospital locations. Texas Health access points and services, ranging from acute-care hospitals and trauma centers to outpatient facilities and home health and preventive services, provide the full continuum of care for all stages of life.  

To help address the issue of lack of representation within this nascent healthcare AI industry, health systems were specifically chosen for their geographic, medical and demographic diversity, as well as the longitudinal coverage of their patient data. Together, they care for almost 10 million patients. The breadth and depth of the resulting raw data, and Dandelion’s expertise in creating de-identified and HIPAA compliant clinical datasets, positions the Dandelion Consortium to provide training datasets and algorithm validation services to AI developers.
