McCarthy Building Companies, Inc., was recently recognized at The Builders’ Association’s 11th Annual Safety Excellence Awards Program as the First Place Award Winner in the General Contractor Division Over 500,000 Work Hours. The builder also received the Grand Award for All Divisions. McCarthy was selected by a panel of five independent judges, and the awards were presented on behalf of The Builders’ Association, Missouri Department of Labor Standards, Kansas Department of Labor and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration Kansas City Area Office at the Builders’ Association Safety Excellence Awards Program Breakfast on March 15, 2018.

“Congratulations to the entire McCarthy Building Companies team for achieving safety and health excellence,” said Phil Shoemaker, Safety, Health & Environmental Services Director for The Builders’ Association/Kansas City Chapter AGC. “These honors recognize the organization as a premier leader in construction safety and health practices in our region.”

McCarthy’s goal is to build every project with zero injuries and accidents. “We are proud of this recognition, which is the result of huge efforts by many — especially our frontline supervision,” said Mark Heit, Vice President, Central Division for McCarthy.
