The Opus Group expands healthcare expertise with new team members


The Opus Group (Opus) announced the additions of Bob Steffel as director of project management and Jed Field as senior project manager for Opus Design Build, L.L.C.

In their new roles, Steffel and Field will manage the construction business for Opus Healthcare™ as well as supporting the growth of Opus’ portfolio of work in other sectors.

“We’re excited to grow our team of integrated experts as Opus enters the healthcare sector,” said Tom Shaver, president, healthcare division, Opus Development Company, L.L.C. “Bob and Jed are seasoned professionals with decades of experience in healthcare facility design and construction. Both will be invaluable assets to our team and our future partners.”

These additions follow Opus’ recent expansion of services into the healthcare sector, aiming to meet the unique facilities and real estate demands faced by the healthcare industry. Opus Healthcare, with the support of Opus’ full network of integrated experts, will partner with leaders across the healthcare industry to deliver innovative and strategic solutions that support overall business goals.

Bob Steffel, P.E.

Bob Steffel is a 30-year industry veteran with construction management expertise in areas including healthcare, industrial, office and renewable energy. Steffel was most recently a construction executive at M.A. Mortenson Company. His previous professional experience also includes tenures with Knutson Construction and Opus Corporation. In his new role, Steffel will guide and oversee project management and field teams across industry sectors, including healthcare. Steffel holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Minnesota, is a LEED accredited professional and a registered professional engineer in the state of Minnesota.

Jed Field, P.E.

Jed Field will bring 15 years of facility design, construction and operations experience and 10 years of healthcare industry know-how to the Opus team. His professional experience includes HealthEast Care System and Park Nicollet Health Systems where he specialized in healthcare facility design, critical infrastructure, construction and operations. In his new role, Field will work with partners to deliver projects from conception to completion. Field holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of St. Thomas and is a registered professional engineer in the state of Minnesota.
