ATLANTA – Lighting, heating, cooling, and ventilation account for nearly 60 percent of U.S. commercial buildings’ energy usage – and will still account for nearly half of their energy usage in 2015, according to the U.S. Department of Energy.

In response, Irisys – a global leader in thermal imaging and people counting solutions – has expanded its strategic focus to support the growing Smart Buildings movement, which, in part, utilizes data, technology and automated functions to optimize utilization, support green standards and control operating costs.

Jeff Riordan, a former director of sales at Emerson Climate Technologies and director of national accounts for Johnson Controls, has been appointed Irisys’ new business development director and is charged with leading its expansion in the United States.
