Whole-room disinfection systems don't replace traditional cleaning methods


Whole-room disinfection systems can augment, but don't replace, traditional cleaning methods, according to an article on the Outpatient Surgery website.

Whole-room systems give an added layer of security on top of the standard cleaning and disinfection policies and procedures.

If you don't use traction and friction to remove the dirt first, neither UVC light or anything else can get through the cover that dirt provides, to actually disinfect target surfaces, the article said.

The biggest challenge in outpatient environments is likely to be incorporating whole-room disinfection systems into the routine.
