UPMC Hamot Renames Pediatric Unit

The nine-bed pediatric unit was renamed to align it closer to UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh.

UPMC Hamot announced the naming of their nine-bed pediatric unit to UPMC Children’s at UPMC Hamot, forming a closer alignment with the specialists and leadership of Pittsburgh-based UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh and expanding inpatient pediatric services. 

UPMC Children’s Hospital will partner closely with UPMC Hamot to enhance the delivery of pediatric care in the Erie region, ensuring that specialized care remains easily accessible for patients and families close to home. 

In addition to the nine-bed pediatric inpatient unit, UPMC Hamot also provides continuum of care from newborn to adolescent age at UPMC Magee-Womens in Erie, ranging from a 16-bed newborn nursery to a 24-bed neonatal intensive care unit (NICU).
