UPMC plans three Pittsburgh specialty hospitals

The University of Pittsburgh Medical Center will invest $2 billion in the projects


The University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) will invest $2 billion in a vision and rehabilitation hospital, a tech-driven heart and transplant facility and a cancer center, according to an article on the Construction Dive website.

The healthcare system awarded each of the three hospitals to a different architectural firm. HOK will design the Vision and Rehabilitation Hospital at UPMC Mercy.

The Heart and Transplant Hospital at UPMC Presbyterian was awarded to HGA.

NBBJ won the design contract for the Hillman Cancer Hospital at UPMC Shadyside.
