A Centra Lynchburg General Hospital (Va.) security officer who shot a patient during a struggle in January will not be charged, according to an article on the Campus Safety website.
Lynchburg authorities determined the shooting was justified.
The patient took the guard's Taser and assaulted both the officer and another hospital employee. The psychiatric ward where the shooting took place is still closed
The guard shot the patient four times. The patient will likely be paralyzed for the rest of his life.
