Va. VA medical center told to improve cleanliness, training

Hunter Holmes McGuire VA Medical Center in Richmond should improve in various areas, according to VA inspector


The Department of Veterans Affairs Office of Inspector General has told the Hunter Holmes McGuire VA Medical Center in Richmond, Va., to improve in areas including cleanliness and training, according to an article on the Richmond Times-Dispatch website.

Officials discovered dirty operating rooms and floors in patient care areas, along with dusty storage shelves. 

The review suggested McGuire clear up these issues ln part by ensuring that the facility trains employees according to Department of Veterans Affairs standards.

McGuire Director John Brandecker said the staff values “the role they play in promoting and preserving quality health care."
