Virginia healthcare facilities mobilized for last weekend's winter storm, meeting with the various departments to make sure things ran smoothly no matter what, according to an article on the WBDJ7 website.
"We check our vehicles, we make sure all of our tires are properly inflated we have proper tires for the type of weather we'll be encountering we also take measurements to put chains and cables on some of our fleet," said Carilion Clinic's director of patient transportation, Craig Bryant.
Staff also makes sure there's enough food, schedules are set and patients are comfortable no matter what the weather.
The maintenance staff is also working over time to make sure the campus is clear of snow and ice.
